News From School Council
Casino Fundraiser - Volunteers Urgently Needed!
Dear Haysboro Families,
A sincere thank you to everyone who has already signed up to volunteer for our biggest fundraiser!
We still have quite a few positions to fill. Our casino is Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10 at Cowboys Casino. If you are a night owl, please consider volunteering for our Sunday evening shifts. And if you prefer a short shift, the count room supervisor and staff work four hours from 11:15 pm to 3:30 am.
The casinos are a fun, relaxed volunteer opportunity where you can meet other families. Please take a moment to sign up using the link below. It only takes 30 seconds to provide your name, phone number, and email address.
Remember, anyone 18 and over can work the casino! No experience necessary.

Spring Garden Fundraiser - Information was sent home with your child. Please note that you can order until May 14 with delivery on May 28.
School Council Meeting - Our next meeting is April 16 at 6:30 pm. You can join in person or online. Meeting links will be sent out closer to the date. All are welcome to attend!
Haysboro Read-A-Thon
Our Haysboro School Council is excited to be hosting our Read-A-Thon from April 13 - 30. Families can support by helping children read daily and returning Reading Logs at the end of each week. Families can also collect pledges and submit donations if they like. All students received a letter home and reading logs.
Thank you to everyone who came to check out the Owl's Nest Book Fair! If you missed it, you can also purchase books at Owl's Nest online site until April 17 using the code HAYSBORO.
Kindergarten Registration Open
Registration for Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year is now open. When we plan staffing and class configurations, it is incredibly helpful to have as clear a picture as possible around student numbers.
If you know of anyone who is planning to register in our wonderful school (kindergarten or otherwise), please encourage them to do so as soon as possible! If there are any questions or if support is required, we are more than happy to chat with families. Please encourage them to call the school office!
Thank you to everyone who tells us that they are sharing positive messages about Haysboro School with their friends. You are an important reason why our little school continues to grow!
Fun Lunch
Haysboro School Council is pleased to continue to offer monthly fun lunches through Healthy Hunger for the new school year. Proceeds from fun lunches are directed back to the School Council account to support initiatives like student experiences, field trips, etc.
Meals will be delivered at lunchtime to students in grade 1-6 and Kindergarten students who attend Maple Roots after school program.

Tax Receipts
Child Care Tax Receipts – Lunch Supervision Child Care Tax Receipts for CBE Lunch Supervision (January 2025–December 2025) are now available through MyCBE.
Please download and/or print your online receipt to include with your 2025 tax return. Paper copies are no longer provided. If you do not already have a MyCBE account, please create one to access your receipt. MyCBE > Fees, Waivers & Service Registrations > Menu (three lines) > Tax Receipts For withdrawn students, please have parents email StudentFees@cbe.ab.ca.
Important Dates:
April 24 - Professional Learning Day, No school for students
May 18 - Victoria Day - No school
June 26 - Last day of school for students
