Hello Haysboro Families!
Please see below for our weekly updates.
Clothing and Weather
As we move into the colder months, we want to remind you that students will go outside daily unless it is extremely cold or wet. Thank you in advance for ensuring that your Haysboro School student arrives with clothing appropriate for the weather. We would also recommend that families consider keeping extra clothing in student backpacks for those days when it's a bit warmer and the melting snow makes their clothes wet.
Winter Events
We will be having some holiday fun with staff and students over the next few weeks. Please see below for a list of specific events during the last week. Participation is optional.
Monday Dec 15 - DEAR day - A special day where teachers will suddenly stop teaching and move to another classroom to share their favorite winter/holiday story with another class.
Tuesday - Ugly Sweater Day
Wednesday - Reindeer antler/Santa Hat/Decoration/Fun Hat Day
Thursday - Candy Cane Colour Day – Wear clothes in your favourite candy cane colour, they can be solids or stripes
Friday - PJ Day
Project Kindness: Monday December 1 - Friday December 12
This holiday season, Haysboro Hawks and their families are invited to support families in our school community by donating gift cards. Gift cards to Superstore, Canadian Tire, Amazon, gas stations, grocery stores and fast-food restaurants are appreciated. Please choose denominations of $25 or less in order to support more families. Thank you for your generosity!
If your family would benefit from this support program, please contact Mr. Bennett at ecbennett@cbe.ab.ca or 403-777-8530. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
Fun Lunch
Haysboro School Council is pleased to continue to offer monthly fun lunches through Healthy Hunger for the new school year. Proceeds from fun lunches are directed back to the School Council account to support initiatives like student experiences, field trips, etc.
Meals will be delivered at lunchtime to students in grade 1-6 and Kindergarten students who attend Maple Roots after school program.
If you would like to participate, you can register with Healthy Hunger if you haven't already through the following link: https://healthyhunger.ca/parent-help
Parking lot
A gentle reminder that our school parking lot is fully assigned to staff in the school and the associated offices. While a spot may be open during the day, that staff member may be returning at any time. Additionally, for the safety of people who may be walking through the parking lot and the vehicles inside, we need to keep traffic to a minimum. If you are dropping off, picking up or coming in to ask a question, we ask that you park on the street (watch out for the bus zone!) and walk into our building. Thank you very much for your support.
Important Dates:
December 19 - Last Day of School
December 20-January 4 - Winter Break
January 5 - Classes Resume
Have a wonderful weekend!
