Hello Haysboro Families!

Please see below for our weekly updates.

Trickster Residency

Our residency with Trickster Theatre is fast approaching and we know many students and families are excited to begin the work and learning for this residency! In a Trickster Theatre residency, artists work with students to create a full scale production at the end of the week. As we work through some logistics and scheduling pieces, we'd like to share that there is a performance piece to highlight the work that students will be doing. We are still working out the logistics with Trickster but wanted to give the community a heads up that performances may be Thursday night and/or Friday morning on the week of February 2-6. This will depend on how Trickster determines we need to organize and students may not perform on both days. More details to follow as they become available.

Also, you can probably imagine that with a full production to happen within a week, there is a tremendous effort behind the scenes and we'd like to invite our parents and guardians to support this work through some volunteering. Please visit our Sign Up Genius link if you have some time available during the week that you are able to volunteer. Please note that a current security clearance is required to volunteer.

Clothing and Weather

As we move into the colder months, we want to remind you that students will go outside daily unless it is extremely cold or wet. Thank you in advance for ensuring that your Haysboro School student arrives with clothing appropriate for the weather. We would also recommend that families consider keeping extra clothing in student backpacks for those days when it's a bit warmer and the melting snow makes their clothes wet.

Fun Lunch

Haysboro School Council is pleased to continue to offer monthly fun lunches through Healthy Hunger for the new school year.  Proceeds from fun lunches are directed back to the School Council account to support initiatives like student experiences, field trips, etc.

Meals will be delivered at lunchtime to students in grade 1-6 and Kindergarten students who attend Maple Roots after school program.

If you would like to participate, you can register with Healthy Hunger if you haven't already through the following link: https://healthyhunger.ca/parent-help

The next fun lunch is Boston Pizza on January 27. The order deadline is January 22.

Parking lot

A gentle reminder that our school parking lot is fully assigned to staff in the school and the associated offices. While a spot may be open during the day, that staff member may be returning at any time. Additionally, for the safety of people who may be walking through the parking lot and the vehicles inside, we need to keep traffic to a minimum. If you are dropping off, picking up or coming in to ask a question, we ask that you park on the street (watch out for the bus zone!) and walk into our building. Thank you very much for your support.
