Hello Haysboro Families!

Please see below for our weekly updates.

News from School Council

School Council - Our school council has wrapped up for the year! Thank you to everyone who was a part of meetings and all the initiatives this year. Please watch Haysboro Happenings in September for the meeting dates in the new year!

Year End Picnic - Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for our Year-End Family Picnic yesterday. It was truly a wonderful evening, and it was so nice to see everyone gathered together to celebrate another fantastic school year.

Events like this remind us of the special sense of community we have - full of warmth, connection, and that true small-school camaraderie that makes our school such a meaningful place for our students, staff and families.

Whether you ordered Spolumbo’s through Healthy Hunger, brought your own picnic, or simply came to visit and enjoy the company, we are so grateful you were part of the evening. Your presence made it special, and the positive energy and great community spirit were felt by all.

Wishing everyone a relaxing and enjoyable summer, and thank you again for being such an important part of our school community!

Kindergarten Registration Open

Registration for Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year is now open. When we plan staffing and class configurations, it is incredibly helpful to have as clear a picture as possible around student numbers.

If you know of anyone who is planning to register in our wonderful school (kindergarten or otherwise), please encourage them to do so as soon as possible! If there are any questions or if support is required, we are more than happy to chat with families. Please encourage them to call the school office!

Thank you to everyone who tells us that they are sharing positive messages about Haysboro School with their friends. You are an important reason why our little school continues to grow!

Tax Receipts

Child Care Tax Receipts – Lunch Supervision Child Care Tax Receipts for CBE Lunch Supervision (January 2025–December 2025) are now available through MyCBE.

Please download and/or print your online receipt to include with your 2025 tax return. Paper copies are no longer provided. If you do not already have a MyCBE account, please create one to access your receipt. MyCBE > Fees, Waivers & Service Registrations > Menu (three lines) > Tax Receipts For withdrawn students, please have parents email StudentFees@cbe.ab.ca.

Activity Day

We are looking forward to our upcoming Activity Day! This is always a highlight for students and a wonderful opportunity for fun, connection, and school spirit. Please note that June 24 is our tentative date for this event and it will depend on the weather. To help ensure a safe and enjoyable day for everyone, please keep the following in mind:

  • Sunscreen: Please apply sunscreen before school and consider sending extra for reapplication.
  • Water: Students should bring a refillable water bottle to stay well hydrated throughout the day.
  • Footwear: Please ensure students wear appropriate running shoes for outdoor activities.

We are also excited to celebrate our school spirit—each class will be assigned a class colour to wear on Activity Day! This adds to the fun and helps build that strong sense of community and small-school camaraderie we value so much. Your child’s classroom teacher will share the assigned colour directly with families via email.

We are looking for some parent volunteers to support us with this event. If you are available for a couple hours on the morning of June 24, and have a valid Police Information Check, and are willing to help us out, please email us at haysboro@cbe.ab.ca to let us know!  We will confirm with everyone who volunteers, as soon as we can.

Lost and Found

We have a number of items that are still in our lost and found. Students are encouraged to look through them to see if anything belongs to them. At the end of the year all the remaining items will be donated. If you think your child might have something there, please ask them to look, or stop by the office if you'd like to look.

Report Cards

Report cards are coming next week. Families will be able to view online student report cards for kindergarten to Grade 12 from June 25 – July 31, 2026. Report cards for the 2025-26 school year may be viewed, downloaded and/or printed.

Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child’s teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information. For best access to information, log in to the MyCBE portal instead of using the PowerSchool App.  Any questions should be directed to the classroom teacher after they have been shared with families. Please be reminded that report cards are no longer printed but can be accessed electronically.
