Hello Haysboro Families!
Please see below for our weekly updates!
School/Community Picnic
Thank you to School Council for organizing a fun event to wrap up our school year! It was great to see so many families gathering in our field last night! Special thank you to DJ Chris for providing music for the evening!
Staffing Updates
It is that time of year when we begin to share information about changes in our staffing for the upcoming school year.
Today, Ms. Finn and Ms. Dewit shared with their classes that they will be off to other adventures next year. Ms. Finn took an opportunity to continue her career at Bayside School and Ms. Dewit will be spending next year teaching in Europe.
Ms. MacDonald, our Kindergarten EA is also moving on as she will be relocating to Vancouver Island to be close to family and continue her career in a new province.
While we will certainly miss these staff members and appreciate all that they have contributed to the Haysboro Community, we are excited for them in these new steps in their lives!
More information on staffing will be shared in our final update, next week.
Lost and Found
We have a number of items that are still in our lost and found. Students are encouraged to look through them to see if anything belongs to them. At the end of the year all the remaining items will be donated. If you think your child might have something there, please ask them to look, or stop by the office if you'd like to look.
Haysboro School Truth and Reconciliation Commitment 2025-26
As the school year closes and we plan for next year, one important process that we engage in is to evaluate our progress on our annual Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation and update it for the next school year. Our committment for the 2025-2026 school year can be found here: Truth and Reconciliation Commitment | 2025-2026
Activity Day
On Tuesday morning we will be having our year end Activity Day! Teachers, staff and our grade six leadership students will have a variety of activities outside and students will be participating in this fun morning to celebrate another great year at Haysboro! It will occur in the morning when the weather is a bit cooler and the sun isn't quite as hot, but please ensure your child is dressed for the weather, and has a water bottle and sunscreen. If the weather is excessively rainy on Tuesday, there is a contingency plan to try for Wednesday morning or holding this event indoors. Our Activity Day has been thoughtfully planned as a student-only activity, and as such, we kindly ask that parents and guardians do not attend. Thank you for your support!
Report Cards
Report cards are coming this week. Families will be able to view online student report cards for kindergarten to Grade 12 from June 25 – July 25, 2025. Report cards for the 2025-26 school year may be viewed, downloaded and/or printed.
Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child’s teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information. For best access to information, log in to the MyCBE portal instead of using the PowerSchool App. Any questions should be directed to the classroom teacher after they have been shared with families. Please be reminded that report cards are no longer printed but can be accessed electronically.
Bus/Walk Zones and School Times
This is a reminder to ensure that you are receiving and reviewing emails that are sent from the Calgary Board of Education as well as the school. Over the last several weeks, there has been communication regarding updated bussing service as well as some adjustments to next year's start and end times that have resulted from the transportation changes. You can review the information on our school's website banner story: Important Updates About Transportation Services & Bell Times for the 2025-2026 School Year - Haysboro School or here on the CBE's webpage: Bell Times - Calendars - CBE and here: School Walk Zones
Please review this information as it will impact pick up and drop off for next year and depending on your address, you may find a change in your child's eligibility to ride the bus.
If you are not receiving these emails, please check to see if your spam filter is impacting what shows up in your inbox. If your main email address has changed, please contact Ms. Gauthier in the office.
Bikes and Scooters
We are very excited for the return of warmer weather and with that, we know that some students might be riding their bikes or scooters to school. We would like to remind everyone that it's always best to bring a lock for your bike/scooter. At the start and end of the day, while other students are outside the school, we are asking that bikes/scooters be walked to the sidewalk before being ridden to reduce the risk of a collision.
A gentle reminder that as with all schools, the parking lot is not for student drop off or pickup.
Thank you in advance for parking on the street and walking your child to the school.
