Hello Haysboro Families!
Please see below for our weekly updates!
Parking and Drop off/Pick Ups
As the weather is getting colder and the streets are getting slipperier, we ask that all families be mindful of street and weather safety. We know that the crosswalks are not ideally situated however jaywalking with your students at drop off and pick up models unsafe choices that they may choose to follow on their own. With the streets now slippery with ice and snow, this is increasingly dangerous. Please take the extra minute to model street safety to our students. It’s not just your child that sees jaywalking happen, other children do too.
Given the colder weather, we would also like to kindly remind families to be mindful around timely pickup and drop off, as well as school supervised outdoor times which begin 15 minutes before the morning bell (8:30 am).
Thank you for your continued support around student safety.

Communication
Are you wondering what’s happening in your child’s classroom? Please remember to take a look at the weekly messages that come to your emails from each classroom. If you’re not receiving them, please contact your child’s teacher so we can investigate. Classrooms and school council also have Instagram accounts. These are great ways to stay connected and have something specific to ask your students about! If you’re looking for way’s to build some additional conversation about what students are learning, you can try questions like: What is something hard that you tried today? Tell me something that you learned today that was interesting or surprised you? What did you do to try your best today? What did you do in your classroom today that helped others?
Being part of a school community is about learning and growing in multiple ways. Celebrating when we try to overcome challenges, make good decisions, learn from challenges or choices that didn’t get the expected results, support others in good ways, etc., will shift our thinking from “I can’t” to “I’m still learning that” and build a sense of personal empowerment and responsibility. This is incredibly important as we all work together to support both academic skills and personal/communal resilience. These things are all part of growing up and discovering what our best selves might look like as we get older. Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support of our students, staff and school community. We appreciate you!
