Hello Haysboro Families!

Please see below for our weekly updates!

Elder Shirley

As many of you have likely already heard, Elder Shirley joined us for two days to speak with our students around Spirit as well as Orange Shirt Day. We are always grateful for the time and care she gives to the Haysboro School community in building authentic relationships, honoring each person and their story and sharing teachings with us. Thank you to the Haysboro School Council for their generous support of this connection and we look forward to seeing Elder Shirley again, later in the fall.

Orange Shirt Day

Our school recognized Orange Shirt Day yesterday with an assembly and throughout the week with opportunities to reflect/discuss the significance of this day and how every child matters. Thank you to the room 2 and 4 students and staff who prepared a thoughtful assembly to share with our school and parents from these classes. We are also grateful to Elder Shirley who took time to speak from the heart around this significance of residential schools, reconciliation and healing together.

Open House

Thank you to all of the families who took time to visit with us last night!  What a wonderful turnout!  A special thanks to our Garden Committee and their volunteers for preparing the outstanding cold and warm teas that included a variety of plants from our school garden.

Clothing and Weather

As we move into the colder months, we want to remind you that students will go outside daily unless it is extremely cold or wet. Thank you in advance for ensuring that your Haysboro School student arrives with clothing appropriate for the weather.

School Council

Thank you to everyone who takes time to provide support and guidance in our school council meetings. There are many people who are planning some exciting opportunities for our school in the future. Stay tuned for more details.
