Hello Haysboro Families!
Please see below for our weekly updates.
Orange Shirt Day
Today, our school recognized orange shirt day with an assembly hosted by Rooms 2 and 4. This is an important time to gather as a community to recognize the significance of the impact of Residential Schools and a Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation. We would like to thank the families from Rooms 2 and 4 who came to join this event and would like to remind everyone that there is no school on Tuesday, September 30th in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Well Being Learning Series
The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join a live online series on supporting child and youth well-being. The series is hosted by the Recovery Alberta Community Education Service (CES) Program in collaboration with local experts from the Calgary community.
Attached to this message is a poster with sessions designed to provide families with knowledge, tools, and strategies to help navigate the challenges and opportunities of raising children and teens today. Along with the poster, additional session details are available on the Child and Youth Family and Caregiver Series public facing page.
Fun Lunch
Haysboro School Council is pleased to continue to offer monthly fun lunches through Healthy Hunger for the new school year. Meals will be delivered at lunchtime to students in grade 1-6 and Kindergarten students who attend Maple Roots after school program. If you would like to participate, you can register with Healthy Hunger if you haven't already through the following link: https://healthyhunger.ca/parent-help
Lunches are delivered to the school and served at lunch time, proceeds from fun lunches are directed back to the School Council account to support initiatives like student experiences, field trips, etc.
Parking lot
A gentle reminder that our school parking lot is fully assigned to staff in the school and the associated offices. While a spot may be open during the day, that staff member may be returning at any time. Additionally, for the safety of people who may be walking through the parking lot and the vehicles inside, we need to keep traffic to a minimum. If you are dropping off, picking up or coming in to ask a question, we ask that you park on the street (watch out for the bus zone!) and walk into our building. Thank you very much for your support.
Want more Haysboro School gear??? Stay tuned as the online store will open up soon. More information will come out when it's ready to go!
