Hello Haysboro Families!

Here we are, the last day of school for the 2023-24 school year. As with all transitions, this can be met with a mixture of emotions from every human in our community, regardless of their role or years of experience. In many ways, this is a good thing. Connections to a community are important and impactful. We wanted to express our gratitude to the students, staff and families for being so welcoming and supportive in our first year here. This is truly a wonderful and kind community and there are some pretty cool learning experiences too! We are proud to be a part of what happens here and are very excited for what next year will bring. As with all things, walking forward together is our path to great learning and great relationships. We are grateful to be able to do that with everyone in the Haysboro community.

On the note of relationships, we have some important adults that we want to say farewell to.

Ms. Baumgartner has been with us all year on a temporary contract. We are excited to share that she has been able to pick up a teaching position in Glamorgan School for next year. This is an important step in her goal of securing a permanent position.

Ms. Palacios has chosen to take on a new adventure in a new school next year. She has expressed sadness in leaving a community that she cares deeply about but is also looking forward to new opportunities next year. We wish her the best of luck.

Mr. Harting is taking a one year leave to explore the world of education in British Columbia. This is an exciting adventure for his family and while we will miss him, his new community will benefit from his perspectives and dedication to his students.

Ms. Kriekle, as most people in this community have already heard, has chosen to move on to new schedules and opportunities in retirement. She has been a member of this community for 23 years and while we have only known her for one, it is safe to say that she brought great care for students, the school and community right up to her last day with us. We hope that her next steps are a wonderful reward for a long and dedicated career in our community.

We are also excited to share that we will have some new adult faces joining us next year from a variety of locations. We will share all of this information in August once all of our staffing processes are complete.
