Hello Haysboro Families!

Please see below for some important information and reminders:

Fall Dance

Thank you to our School Council for putting on this fun, annual activity. We appreciate the time and effort that goes into providing this community building experience!

In Remembrance of Those Who Have Served

As we prepare to honor those who have served and continue to serve our country, we are asking families to share photos of veterans or active service members who are connected to your family.

Please send a copy of the photo—not the original—in either 4×6 or 5×7 size. To help us return the photo, please write the name of the family member it belongs to on the back.

Along with the photo, please provide any of the following information you know:

·         Name of the veteran or active service member

·         Relationship to your family

·         When and where they served

·         Date of birth

·         Date of death, if applicable

Please send the photo and information by October 30. Photos can be:

·         Sent to school with your child

·         Dropped off at the school office

·         E-mailed to Ms. Oliphant at ldoliphant@cbe.ab.ca

Thank you for helping us recognize and honor the members of our community who have served and continue to serve our country.

Healthy Hunger

Haysboro School Council is pleased to continue to offer monthly fun lunches through Healthy Hunger.  Meals will be delivered at lunch time to students in grade 1-6 and Kindergarten students who attend Maple Roots.  Please register with Healthy Hunger if you haven't already through the link provided: https://healthyhunger.ca/parent-help. Lunches are delivered to the school and served at lunch time.  Proceeds from fun lunches are directed back to school improvement, experiences and field trips. Our next Fun Lunch is Subway on October 20. Place order at least a week in advance of Fun Lunch date so you don't miss the order deadline.

Acts of Kindness

We have seen and heard of several exceptional acts of kindness from our students around the school community lately. It sometimes only takes a moment of our time to make a big difference in someone else's day. We have been so happy to be able to recognize and thank our students for the kindness, care, and connections that they are showing each other at all times during the day!

Staffing Update

As a result of some increased funding that we have recently received, we have been able to make some temporary adjustments to staffing.

We would like to welcome Ms. Kassandra Baldwin who will be joining Ms. Blanchard and Ms. Ross (Ms. J) as part of our CCT team. This team is in place to support staff and students through the lens of classroom complexity.

We would also like to welcome Ms. Ashley Domagala who will be filling Ms. Ross' Education Assistant role while she is engaged with the CCT team.

Conferences

Parent/Teacher conferences will be held on Nov 26 (evening) and 27 (morning). We will be sending out additional information about the booking window, as we get closer to the date. A reminder that all conferences are booked through your MyCBE account. If you are unsure how to access this system, please contact Ms. Gauthier soon as it is also where you can pay fees (fieldtrips, lunchroom, etc.) and view report cards.

Lost and Found

We have a growing number of items in our lost and found. Teachers will be taking classes to look for items. If your child is missing an item, please remind them to check lost and found.

Volunteers - Artist Residency

We are excited about our upcoming school-wide Artist Residency in November. In order to have a successful residency, we are in need of many volunteers to support in classrooms. If your volunteer clearance is up to date and you can spare some time to help out, please use this link to sign up:
