Hello Haysboro Families!

It's been a great week at Haysboro!  We have welcomed a few new students; we are seeing some awesome connections in classrooms and around the school (even across big grade gaps), and we've even had some walking field trips already!

Please see below for some important information and reminders:

Welcome, Ms. Hall!

The students had a few days this week to experience the joy and wisdom that Ms. Hall brings to a school community. I am personally very grateful that she has been willing to support us in the Acting Assistant Principal role until Ms. Livingstone arrives. She has had such a positive impact on students and staff already! We are truly "Walking on Sunshine" alongside her.

Focus Friday

Students have given us their requests, and we are currently in the process of sorting everyone into groups for our first two rounds. This has become an important action in our school as we continue to provide opportunities for students to meet new friends across all grades, while they try out some new and interesting learning activities.

School Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation

Every year, each school in the CBE reviews their progress and learning around a specific commitment that has been made to Truth and Reconciliation. Following that review, staff collaborate to determine what would be a next, meaningful step. This is captured and shared in an updated commitment at the start of the year. Our 2026-2027 Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation is attached to this message. Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation

It's back!  Haysboro School Council is pleased to continue to offer monthly fun lunches through Healthy Hunger.  Meals will be delivered at lunch time to students in grade 1-6 and Kindergarten students who attend Maple Roots.  Please register with Healthy Hunger if you haven't already through the link provided: https://healthyhunger.ca/parent-help. Lunches are delivered to the school and served at lunch time.  Proceeds from fun lunches are directed back to school improvement, experiences and field trips. Our next Fun Lunch is Subway on October 20. Place order at least a week in advance of Fun Lunch date so you don't miss the order deadline.

CBE Caregiver Series

The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join a live online series on supporting child and youth well-being. The series is hosted by the Recovery Alberta Community Education Service (CES) Program in collaboration with local experts from the Calgary community.

Attached to this email is a poster with sessions designed to provide families with knowledge, tools, and strategies to help navigate the challenges and opportunities of raising children and teens today. Along with the poster, additional session details are available on our corporate website: Child and Youth Well-Being Family and Caregiver Series.
